1. Operator and scope

Douglas Sutherland personally operates mrsutherland.net and its public CHARLOTTE demo at charlotte.mrsutherland.net. This is an independent personal educational project. These terms cover the public website, its classroom tools and that demo. Linked services and separately installed software have their own arrangements.

2. Free access

Access is free, without student or teacher accounts, subscriptions, donations, advertising or paid access. We do not operate optional visitor-tracking analytics or sell personal information. Necessary hosting records, local work and report emails are explained in the Privacy Policy.

3. Educational use and supervision

Resources support learning and planning. They do not replace professional judgement or guarantee curriculum suitability, assessment accuracy or learning outcomes. Check content, behaviour and device requirements before use. Teachers, parents and carers should guide children’s use, including permission to record people and the handling of exported work.

4. Your work and downloads

Classroom work is processed in the visitor’s browser and is not submitted to the operator. Some tools save work or progress in browser storage; others retain it only for a session. Export important work and keep your own backups. Clearing browser data, private browsing, device management, storage limits or device failure may remove work. The operator cannot retrieve, recover or remotely delete your browser saves or downloaded files. Your chosen hand-in platform is a separate service.

5. CHARLOTTE public demo

CHARLOTTE is a fictional interactive demo, not a live school timetable service. Edits exist only in the open page’s memory and disappear when it reloads or closes. There is no real-data import, server-saving facility, shared timetable or server backup. Use fictional examples only; do not rely on it for production scheduling or recordkeeping.

6. Availability and no technical support

Resources and downloads are supplied as available. No technical support, installation help, training, recovery service, service-level agreement, guaranteed uptime or response deadline is offered. Privacy, security and copyright concerns can still be reported through the Contact page. The operator may correct, update or withdraw content and take proportionate action to protect the service or restrict abusive, unlawful or disruptive use. Significant changes affecting normal use will be explained where practical.

7. Risk and rights preserved by law

Use resources with appropriate care, check their suitability and back up exports. To the extent permitted by law, the operator does not warrant uninterrupted, error-free or risk-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose or preservation of local work, and excludes liability for loss arising from use or unavailability of the free resources. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, remedy, right or liability that Australian law does not permit to be excluded, restricted or modified.

8. Changes, law and contact

Changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date and do not retrospectively change permissions for copies already lawfully obtained under an earlier resource licence. Queensland and applicable Australian law govern these terms, subject to mandatory rights and jurisdictions that apply to you. The Terms of Use govern reuse and behaviour. Contact dsuth10@gmail.com for privacy, security or copyright concerns; do not send confidential information.
