Classroom learning applications and student privacy
The learning applications, games, and reading suites provided on mrsutherland.net (including Raynah Motion, Maths Command Station, Area & Perimeter, Reading Labs, and Comprehension Challenge) are designed for classroom transparency:
- No student accounts required: Students do not create accounts or passwords to use our learning tools.
- On-device processing & storage: Work created in these tools (such as stop-motion animation frames, audio recordings, quiz answers, and reading annotations) is processed and stored locally inside the user's web browser (using IndexedDB or localStorage). It is not uploaded to mrsutherland.net servers.
- Exports and submissions: When students export work (e.g.
.raynah.zip,.mp4, or response.jsonfiles), the file is saved directly to their device's Downloads folder. Students hand work in to their teachers via their school's chosen platform (such as Google Classroom or OneDrive). - Online demonstrations: Demonstration tools that communicate with an external service (such as the CHARLOTTE Timetable Scheduler hosted at
charlotte.mrsutherland.net) are clearly designated. Visitors are advised to use synthetic example data rather than confidential school records.
